Heidi and
her husband, John, joined South in February 2003. They
live in Okemos with their daughter, Taylor.
Heidi
and John met at Bob Jones University in music theory
class. Heidi finished
her bachelor's degree at Michigan State University where
her dad was a professor. Heidi and John were married
in 1987, the same year Heidi began teaching elementary
music for Fowlerville Public Schools. She switched
to teaching fourth grade in 1993 and taught there until
she 'retired' in 2000. At that time, Heidi was
ready to spend more time helping in Taylor's classroom
and has enjoyed being a volunteer mom. She also
enjoys reading, running and any excuse to spend some
time at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
For all of her adult life, Heidi
has been involved in children's ministry: teaching Sunday
School and Junior Church, leading kid's choirs, directing
kids' productions, working in Awana and leading Vacation
Bible School.
